A man and woman are arrested for accusations that they assaulted someone with a disability, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said.
James Stephenson, 62, is charged with interfering with emergency communication, assault inflicting serious injury, assault on a female, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and felony assault on an individual with a disability.

Rene Howard, 54, is charged with assault, inflicting serious injury and felony assault on an individual with a disability.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Stephenson and Howard on Wednesday.
Deputies responded on Thursday, May 21, to a report of an assault on a woman with disabilities on Fanny Brown Road near Alderman Circle near Raleigh, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation is ongoing.
