Moore County — The Moore County Sheriff's Office announced it has received meaningful new gear for one of its K-9 officers.
Officer Anna will proudly wear a ballistic vest honoring Conner Crossen, an Oak Ridge boy who passed away at the age of 11 after a two-year-long battle with cancer.

During his cancer treatments, Conner looked forward to visits from hospital therapy dogs. His grandmother donates a vest to a North Carolina law enforcement K-9 each year in honor of his love for dogs.
This year, that donation went to Moore County Sheriff's Office.
April 5 marks eight years since Conner's death.
The donation was made through Brady's K9 Fund, a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing K-9 officers with body armor. Since 2018, the nonprofit has vested more than 1,650 K-9's across the country.
