A driver is in the hospital Thursday night after authorities said they crashed into a truck carrying chicken parts on U.S. Highway 1 in Aberdeen.

According to authorities, a moped crashed into a truck carrying chicken "byproducts," which then spilled on the highway at Knight Street in Aberdeen.

The driver of the moped was taken to the hospital, but authorities said their injuries were non-life-threatening.

As of 10 p.m., both southbound lanes and teh center turn lane are closed, with drivers being diverted to Poplar Street while authorities clear the crash, which authorities say could take most of the night
