The town of Morrisville adopted its 2027 Annual Operating Budget at Tuesday's town council meeting, holding the property tax rate flat at $0.35 per $100 of value.
The $30 annual vehicle decal fee and the $50 stormwater fee also remain the same.

The Morrisville budget for the coming year is $2 million less than the 2026 operating budget, at a total of $60,430,000.
It also allows around 4% of the general fund to be used for roadway and transportation improvements, parks and recreation improvements and public safety apparatus and equipment. Four percent of the general fund equals around $2,413,000, which is less than the $3.88 million that was allotted in 2026.
Morrisville budgeted for an additional 10 full-time jobs and one UNC Fellow.
The budget was approved by a vote of four to two.
"Tuesday’s split vote — the first during my time on Council — shows that thoughtful people can look at the same facts and reach different conclusions," Mayor TJ Cawley said.
Cawley continued, "With this year’s FY2027 Adopted Budget coming in more than $2 million below FY2026, there may be visible service impacts. I am confident that we will work together to safeguard the quality of life that defines our welcoming, inclusive All‑America City."
