77th Annual Mule Days Parade, celebrates Americas 250th

Thousands gathered in Benson on Saturday for the 77th annual Mule Days Parade, one of Benson's signature events.This years parade celebrated America’s 250th with a patriotic theme and nearly 1000 horses and mules.

Many of the attendees said the parade is a longtime tradition, with some returning year after year. WRAL personalities Ashley Rowe and Ken Smith joined the festivities for the WRAL sponsored event. 

Among the participants was Mission Mules, a nonprofit group that uses trained pack mules to deliver supplies to communities affected by storms and disasters.
