A Nash County woman was arrested and faces several charges after leaving a dog unattended in a hot trailer.
Marissa Nicole Russell, 32, was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection to the investigation.

Russell is accused of leaving her dog in an unoccupied single-wide trailer without any heat or air conditioning, according to court documents. The animal was reportedly confined during excessively high temperatures in an unventilated space with all windows closed except for one slightly cracked open.
The woman was charged with:
- Felony cruelty to animals
- Misdemeanor Abandonment of Animal (2x)
- Misdemeanor Cruelty to animals
Russell is expected in court on Thursday morning where a bond will be set by a judge.
