At least one person died in a crash in Fayetteville on Monday evening.

Around 6:15 p.m., a car failed to yield the right of way on N.C. 24 near Downing Road, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The car was struck by a large service truck.

The driver of the car died at the scene. WRAL is still working to learn whether there were any passengers in the vehicle. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
