The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who attacked a food delivery driver with a baseball bat.
While making a food delivery order around 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 1, Christen Phillips stopped at the intersection of Western Boulevard and Gum Branch Road in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Phillips told deputies the vehicle in front of her did not move after the light turned green so she honked her horn. The vehicle moved out of her way, but then began following her.
After Phillips arrived at her food delivery location in the Shamrock Drive area the suspect approached her and struck her in the head with a baseball bat before leaving the area, deputies said.
Philips went to Onslow Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
During the investigation, deputies determined the suspect was driving a dark-color Range Rover with silver or gray alloy rims.
The suspect is described as a male in his late 30s to early 40s, about 6 feet tall with short hair and a clean-shaven face.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office previously identified a person believed to be involved in the assault, but was later ruled out as a suspect after further investigation.
Deputies continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
