Raleigh Police look for suspect of deadly hit-and-run on New Bern Ave

Around 9 p.m. Friday night a woman was hit by a car and killed.

The incident happened in front of Wake Inn on Shanta Drive, near New Bern Avenue. 

Raleigh police said Nicole Shawnette White, 54, was trying to cross the street outside of a crosswalk.

The driver left the scene, and police are working to identify the driver. 

White was taken to a nearby hospital where she died of her injuries.
