Gastonia police have identified the name of the person who died after an officer-involved shooting on Saturday.
Police said Derrick Manigault died after a shooting just before 6 p.m. involving two officers at Jakob’s Food Mart on Gaston Avenue.

Police said both officers were placed on administrative leave with pay while the State Bureau of Investigation looks into the shooting, which they said is standard operating procedure.
The investigation is still ongoing.
The police department added that they are also conducing an internal investigation into the matter.
