A Pittsboro man is accused of stealing money from a victim's checking account.
Troy Passmore, 52, is charged with three felony counts of identity theft and one count of obtaining property by false pretenses.

Back in December, investigators received a report that money was fraudulently withdrawn from a resident's checking account.
During the investigation, authorities identified Passmore as the suspect. They found he retrieved the victim's personal information and used a bank withdrawal slip to take the money from their account.
Passmore is also accused of using the victim's information to cash two fake checks at another bank location.
He has not been served on the charges. Bond and court dates are pending.
