U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Swinton will be laid to rest on Monday.
Swinton will be buried at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Bragg Blvd in Spring Lake.

A processional service from the funeral home to the cemetery began at 11:15 a.m.
The motorcade arrived around 11:45 a.m., family and friends were welcomed inside.
Remarks and a 21 gun salute followed.
The Fayetteville native was remembered at a funeral on Saturday at the Southview Baptist Church in Hope Mills.
