Friday is expected to be the busiest travel day of Labor Day weekend.
The Transportation Security Administration estimates that more than 24,000 people will travel through Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Friday.

During the morning rush at RDU, a long line of people were waiting to be screened outside the TSA checkpoint. Travelers were moving steadily through the line, which had shortened a little by 6 a.m.
TSA said Sunday will be the second busiest day, where 23,000 people are expected to travel. Altogether, the airport says they expect more than 122,000 passengers this holiday.
Arriving at the airport early is essential for a stress-free travel experience. Remember to arrive at the airport at least two hours early for a domestic flight and three hours for international travel.
Flying during this Labor Day holiday is expected to be more expensive than years past.
AAA said domestic airfare costs are up 2% compared to last year, averaging about $750 for a roundtrip ticket. For the most popular destinations, ticket prices are up nearly 20%, averaging about $790.
AAA said hotel booking costs domestically are also up by about 9% compared to last year.
