Former Saint Augustine's University president Christine McPhail has died.

McPhail died after battling cancer, according to a post on her Facebook page from Sunday night.

In 2021, McPhail was named the school's 13th president. She succeeded her husband, Irving Pressley McPhail, who died in 2020 from COVID-19 complications.

McPhail previously served as president and chief executive of a higher education consulting firm and as professor of practice as the John E. Roueche Center for Community College Leadership at Kansas State University.
