Raleigh police said two people got away after one of them accidentally discharged a gun during an attempted traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon.
Sky 5 flew over the scene around 1:25 p.m. at New Bern Avenue and Beacon Lake Drive.

Officers were attempting to pull over a person driving a white Honda Accord along New Bern Avenue, according to police.
Raleigh police said Jose Collado, 21, exited a Honda Accord while in possession of a gun and ran from officers on Tuesday. During the chase, Collado discarded the gun, and it discharged when it hit the ground. Police said the driver of the vehicle, Norvell Young, 19, remained inside the Accord while officers pursued Collado before he drove away from the scene.
Initially after the chase, Raleigh Police Chief Rico Boyce said a passenger shot a weapon as he got out of the car before running off.
No officers were hurt.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol and other agencies were assisting. Authorities said Collado is known to law enforcement and lives nearby. A search team appeared to be looking through some nearby woods.
Officers had gathered at a tire shop to investigate. Raleigh police left the scene around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday without having found Collado or Young.
Starlyn Graciano, a technician at Blue Flame Tires, said he witnessed the car speed by.
"I saw a trooper [go] after him, so I stepped back and I heard a gunshot," he said. "That's when I ran away and told others what happened."
Authorities charged Collado with posession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer. Young was charged with felony flee to elude arrest.
