Frustration remains at many DMV offices across the state, more than three weeks after the new Commissioner explained changes aimed at fixing the department's challenges.
This time, the frustration is not about long lines.

Max Trujillo said he and his daughter waited at the office on Spring Forest Road Saturday morning to get her learner’s permit. Dozens of others waited in line as well.
But the office never opened.
A nearby business owner told Trujillo he’s seen this for the last few Saturdays. In previous years, that office has been open for summer Saturday walk ins, but not this year.
“A simple sign on the door that just said, ‘we apologize for the inconvenience, we won’t be open today,’ would have sufficed,” Trujillo said. “Even though we work up early, we wouldn’t have been there for three and a half hours. That’s all we needed, was just a note, just to say we’re not going to be open today.”
A sign on the door listed the hours from now through August showing Saturday being open from 8 a.m. to noon. Though the DMV announced last month that the office on New Bern Avenue would be open on Saturdays instead of this one.
The DMV office on Avent Ferry Road is also open on Saturdays.
WRAL has reached out the DMV for comment about this and we are waiting to hear back.
