Man accused of stabbing six people in downtown Raleigh remains in hospital

Shortly after midnight Saturday, a fight broke out on Fayetteville Street between two groups of people.

Raleigh police said an argument between the suspect, 35-year-old Frank Lalich, and a group of people escalated into a fight. Several people were stabbed. 

Six adults were taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

Lalich is now facing several charges, including four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure. 

People downtown told WRAL News say they feel things are “getting out of hand.”

“We come out here, we try to have a good time and it ends in tragedy,” Dyani O’Neal said. “We don’t want anymore of that.”  

Police said Lalich is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries.

Police initially said several others were arrested on the scene, but they did not provide details into any other arrest.
