Fayetteville Police are investigating a social media threat at a high school in Cumberland County.
Cumberland County Schools released a statement on Wednesday evening about a social media post circulating in reference to E.E. Smith High School.

Travion Washington, 19, of Fayetteville, is charged with communicating threats related to the social media post and video posted.
Authorities are holding Washington under no bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center.. He is due in court on Friday morning.
School administrators immediately notified authorities to investigate.
Out of an abundance of caution, E.E. Smith will operate on a code yellow status with increased awareness and extra security measures in place on Thursday.
The district says the safety of students and staff remains top priority.
