A 17-year-old in Concord will be put on trial as an adult after police said he killed one teenager and injured another in a shooting that stemmed from an online marketplace purchase.
According to the Concord Police Department, Yanixan Arellanes Silva reached out to two 16-year-old boys about an item he wanted to purchase that they were selling on social media.

Police said when Silva and the boys met in person on Thursday at a back parking lot area of Hartsell Park off of Sunderland Road, a "brawl" broke out between them and ended when Silva shot both 16-year-olds.
Police were called to the scene around 5:23 p.m. that day. When they arrived, they found one of the 16-year-olds dead and the other with serious injuries.
Police arrested Silva and charged him with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and failure to report death.
