Teen killed, another seriously injured in Sampson County crash

Troopers said Aiden Lee Reams, 18, and his 17-year-old passenger, Carson Fairclot,h were driving down Airport Road at a high speed. The car ran off the road, causing Reams to lose control and crash into a tree.

A teen is dead after a Sunday morning crash in Sampson County.

State Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 9 a.m. outside of Clinton city limits.

Troopers said Aiden Lee Reams, 18, and his 17-year-old passenger, Carson Faircloth, were driving down Airport Road at a high speed. The car ran off the road, causing Reams to lose control and crash into a tree.

Troopers found Faircloth dead at the scene, and EMS took Reems to WakeMed with serious injuries.

State Highway Patrol said they believe speed was a factor in the crash, but their investigation is ongoing.
