She worked at Children's Lighthouse of Holly Springs on Avent Ferry Road.

A warrant said Singh hurt a child by grabbing him by the arm and jerking him backward while on a playground. The abrupt motion caused the boy to fall down and he was dragged several feet away while Singh kept her grip on him. Singh let go of the arm, causing him to fall backward. The boy then hit his head on the ground.

Singh has a June court appearance in Raleigh.

In a statement sent to WRAL News, a spokesperson for Children's Lighthouse of Holly Springs said,

"On April 21, an incident occurred on our playground involving a teacher and a child in our care. The teacher was terminated immediately following the incident. The child involved has continued their enrollment with us. We were recently made aware that the former teacher was arrested by local authorities. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement and state licensing and will continue to do so as both investigations move forward."
