The Randolph County superintendent is speaking out after a wanted man entered an elementary school.
On Wednesday, Hopewell Elementary School was put on a modified lockdown after Neal McMann, a man wanted in Davidson County, entered the building without permission.

On Friday, superintendent Steven Gainey addressed the matter.
"While the situation did occur, it should never have happened," Gainey said. "This individual had no business on the campus of Hopewell Elementary School, and definitely didn't have any business being inside the school."
It was determined the person entered the building through a door that was not secure due to vent hinges.
