Dive team recovers body of Warren Co. woman missing for more than a year, authorities say

The body of a North Carolina woman missing for over a year was recovered Thursday in Vance County.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, a dive team and the State Bureau of Investigations conducted searches in the county on Thursday. During the searches, the team discovered human remains.

The remains were sent to the NC Medical Examiner’s Office and identified as Dana Leigh Mustian.

Mustian had been missing since November 30, 2023. She was last heard from on that day at 1:30 p.m. Her last known location was Dorothy Drive in Warrenton.

Deputies said her disappearance and death are still under investigation.
