Two men are in jail after a multi-county investigation found them with dozens of dozens of guns, 13 of them stolen.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office worked with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office to arrest Cody Peterson and John Stallings in connection to a series of break-ins and thefts in Warren County.

In search of a property on Monroe Street in Roanoke Rapids, deputies found 37-year-old David Stallings in the backyard and Cody Peterson hiding in shed.
Peterson is a convicted felon, with several prior breaking-and-entering charges.
In addition to the 48 firearms found at the property, deputies found two dirt bikes, a flatbed trailer and a bass boat that had been reported stolen or had identification numbers altered.
Investigators linked Stallings to two other locations. At a motel in Weldon where he was staying, they found a gun, a stolen pickup truck and stolen jewelry.
Stallings is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and escaping a local jail. Sheriff Branche said Stallings temporarily got away from deputies when they arrived at the jail.
The escape charge was from a prior incident when Warren County Officers attempted to walk into the jail, and Stallings ran from deputies.
"He did make it into the woods from the back parking lot
area. But, we were right on top of him and did get him back into custody.
"Halifax Regional Drug & Gang Task Force agents arrested Cody Peterson on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Peterson was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
