North Roxboro Street in Durham reopens after water main break

An 8-inch water main break blocked North Roxboro Street in Durham early Thursday morning.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was at the scene by 3:45 a.m., where the road was closed between East Hammond Street and Maynard Avenue. At 7:30 a.m., an excavator was at the scene.

Durham Water Management said the break was reported around 2:45 a.m., leaving about 20 customers without water service. 

The road reopened to traffic around 12:15 p.m. and water service was restored.
