Starting March 1, water rates in Chatham County will increase by 10% for more than 11,000 water utilities customers.
Customers will not see their rate increase change until their bill arrives in May.

For example, the average monthly water bill of $50 would increase by $5 to $55.
On Nov. 4, 2024, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners approved a water rate increase for Chatham County Water Utilities customers.
The increase is needed to meet rising operational costs and necessary capital improvements.
