Wendell fire crews said hot cooking grease caused a fire outside of a home on Sunday.
Crews were called around 10:44 a.m. to a home on Family Manor Lane. When they arrived, officials said crews found flames and smoke in a grassy area behind the home.

After investigating, officials said the fire was caused by someone pouring hot cooking grease in the grass behind the home. Due to the dry conditions, officials said the fire was easily ignited and spread by high winds and low humidity.
Wendell fire officials said the fire was contained shortly after they arrived, and there was only damage to the outside of the home.
Officials said no injuries were reported and no one was displaced.
