Wendell police are searching for a person they say ran away from a police chase and crash Monday night.
Officers said the chase was on Wendell Boulevard near the Food Lion grocery store. Video from a WRAL viewer shows police vehicles and fire trucks parked there along with a crashed vehicle..

WRAL crews saw other vehicles not involved in the chase that were also badly damaged.
Reilly Webber said she saw the crash while on the way to the grocery store.
"The Tesla was actually in pieces," Webber said. "There were pieces all over the place. The Charger or the Hellcat was actually facing that way going down, and the other two cars involved were facing this way."
WRAL News is working to learn more about what caused the chase, who was involved and if there were any injuries.
