Wilson police have arrested the man accused of killing two people and injuring two others in a shooting on Monday.
Officers were called at 2 p.m. to Washington Street on reports of gunshots. When they arrived, police said they found three people had been shot.

As of Tuesday morning, Wilson police confirmed that a fourth victim, 46-year-old Tyron Sutton, was hurt in the shooting. He was treated by Wilson County EMS on the scene with a non-life threatening injury.
Police said on Monday that 44-year-old Natasha Latrice Sutton and 21-year-old Avantae Pender died on the scene. Tiffany Fogg, 37, was taken to Wilson County Emergency Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
Tateanna Rogers and Tyrone Brown say losing their mom (Natasha Sutton) and brother (Pender) still doesn't feel real.
"Your heart is just ripped out of your chest," Rogers said.
"I feel like someone just stabbed me in my heart," Brown said.
"I called my mama's phone," Rogers said. "I called my brother and nobody answered.
"And then, I called my cousin, and she told me something had happened to my mom and my brother, and that's when I found out that they were gone."
Brown said he talked to his mom almost every day.
"She's always been the backbone through everything," Rogers said. "She's the glue. It hurts."
Rogers and Brown said Natasha Sutton and Avantae Pender had just moved into the apartment on Washington Street.
Donta Maurice Chestnut, 39, was arrested on Monday evening in relation to the shooting. He faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder. Chestnut was Natasha Sutton's landlord.
The arrest is hard to square for people like Tekeya Farmer, whose children attended youth programs Chestnut ran.
“He comes to this community all the time, to give back to his community, clean up the yards, help the old people out, people who battle drug addiction, everything,” Farmer said. “He saved a lot of lives.”
Chestnut is known as the man behind “Our Wilson” - a nonprofit focused on providing Wilson’s young people with mentorship, and opportunities for a better life.
Neighbors say Chestnut raised himself and had a hard childhood of his own, serving as an example in the community. He also ran, and lost, a race for Wilson’s city council in 2023.
Chestnut is now facing two counts of first-degree murder charges and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
