Woman hit, killed on I-95 in Halifax Co

A woman was hit and killed Saturday night on I-95 in Halifax County, North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

Troopers responded to a crash between a vehicle and female pedestrian around 8:30 p.m. on I-95 southbound near mile marker 156. 

The pedestrian died at the scene, troopers said. Her identity has not been revealed yet, as troopers are still trying to contact family members.

No charges have been filed at this time, Highway Patrol said.
