Woman seriously injured after being hit by truck on I-85 in Durham

A woman was seriously injured after being hit by a truck on Interstate 85 on Wednesday night.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 9:10 p.m. to a crash involving a pedestrian on southbound I-85 near Exit 173 to Cole Mill Road.

Police said a truck hit the woman. Paramedics took her to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Police said the southbound side of I-85 was closed temporarily at Cole Mill Road as they responded. The road reopened around 10:30 p.m.
