On Saturday, Sept. 12, a woman was found on the side of the road in Hoke County after she said two men tried to abduct her.
Deputies arrived at the intersection of Oakdale Gin Road and Scott Currie Road, near Raeford, and found a woman on the side of the road.

She told police that she was walking along the road around 8 a.m. when a blue/black van stopped, and a man pulled her into the back of it.
She said she was punched in the eye, assaulted with a knife, and then pushed out of the van. She said one man was Native American and the other was Black.
Police called EMS and transported the woman to the hospital. She had minor injuries.
Detectives spoke to the victim at the hospital, and they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
