WCNC, CHARLOTTE, N.C. - As the government shutdown enters its fourth day, travelers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport says operations are still running smoothly, even as concerns grow over how long that will last. 

"We are concerned about it, but I haven't noticed anything," Rick Willoughby who was traveling with his family Saturday, said. "It's all just been business as usual for us, at least at this point."

Willoughby said he checked their fight status before arriving at the airport. The family was unsure what to expect. Federal employees, including TSA officers and air traffic controllers are currently working without pay. More than 11,000 federal aviation employees have been furloughed. 

International travelers were warned about the shutdown and potential impacts to travel before arriving in the U.S. 

"We were warned three days ago in Santiago, Spain, that the government had shut down and we could experience some days," Karen Carter, who was returning from overseas, said. "We were prepared to experience whatever today. However, we did not encounter any trouble or delays."

Business continues as normal at the Charlotte Douglas Airport for now. However, travelers are advised to check with the airport before their flights be aware of any potential delays and manage expectations.
