Greenville receives $500K for affordable housing

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Greenville City Council has approved more affordable housing in the city.

In the Thursday night meeting, council members unanimously approved $500,000 towards the development of the affordable housing community, Farrington Trace Phase II on Fire Tower Road. 

The construction will add 84 more homes. 

Greenville's HOME Partnership Fund will providing funding to the project. They have helped bring more than 500 affordable housing units to Greenville since 2010.
