A monkey is on the loose in Iredell County, and residents are urged to take precautions.
On Wednesday, officials with the county’s animal services said in a post on Facebook that a Capuchin monkey from Zootastic Park was on the loose in the Troutman area of Iredell County. Officials said they are working closely with the zoo to make sure the animal is safely captured.

Anyone who sees the monkey is urged not to capture, chase or interact with the monkey. Instead, they should call Iredell County Animal Services immediately at 704-878-5335.
