A federal grand jury in Columbia, South Carolina on Thursday indicted a former Myrtle Beach pastor for cyberstalking his estranged wife before her death.
The indictment alleges that beginning in November 2022, now-46-year-old John Paul Miller sent unwanted and harassing messages to his estranged wife up until her death on April 27, 2024.

Authorities said his wife, Mica Miller, died by suicide in April; her death gained national attention due to allegations surrounding her marriage.
The harassing behavior included John Miller posting a nude photo of her online without consent, putting tracking devices on her vehicle and, in one instance, contacting her over 50 times in a single day. The indictment also alleges that he interfered with her finances. her daily activities and, in one instance, damaged her car tires.
The indictment added that Miller lied in his responses to federal investigators after being interviewed about these allegations.
Miller faces a maximum of five years in prison for cyberstalking and two years for providing false statements. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000.
His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026, in federal court in Florence, S.C.
