Wilson police said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a deadly shooting left a 14-year-old dead.
Officers said the shooting happened around 8:42 p.m. Wednesday on Woodside Drive West. When police arrived, officers said they found the child who had been shot.

Police said the child was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.
Wilson County Schools identified the boy as 14-year-old Clente Barnes-Allen.
The principal of Forest Hills Middle sent the following message to families on Thursday:
"I am calling this afternoon with some unfortunate news. As some of you may have heard, one of our students, Clente Barnes-Allen, passed away last night. We had additional counselors on campus today to support students and staff. Please keep the family and friends of this student in your thoughts and prayers, as well as our Forest Hills family. This is a very difficult time for them and for all of us."
WRAL News reached out to the Wilson Police Department with questions on how this shooting occurred and how the suspect got hold of a firearm.
"The Wilson Police Department is deeply saddened by the loss of any life that is the result of gun violence, and that loss is amplified when it is the life of a child," the department wrote in a press release.
WRAL News spoke to the victim's family, who did not wish to speak about the incident.
Police have not identified the 15-year-old, but said he faces several charges, including involuntary manslaughter and possession of a stolen firearm. Police said the teen is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
