GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Three bar employees in Winterville are facing charges after an underage alcohol-related crash in Greenville killed one teenager and seriously injured another. 

The crash happened January 19, killing 18-year-old Elijah Monty and injuring a 19-year-old passenger.

Greenville Police say the two teens were served alcohol at Main & Mill Oyster Bar and Tavern in Winterville. 

The three charged in this incident are owner and manager, Davie and Maria Munoz, and employee Jamie West. 

The Munoz's are charged with the following:

  • Giving alcoholic beverages to anyone under 21 
    • Failing to superintend an ABC-licensed establishment
      • Allowing unlawful conduct on ABC-licensed premises

        West was charged with:

        • Giving alcoholic beverages to anyone under 21 
          • Allowing unlawful conduct on ABC-licensed premises 

            Alcohol Law Enforcement said the teens attended a private event at the tavern before the crash. North Carolina's Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABC Board) will review the case to determine whether to take action against the business.
