Woods of Terror to create permanent memorial for team member who died after medical emergency

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WXII) A permanent memorial will be created at the Woods of Terror haunted theme park to honor a staff member who died last week.

On Sept. 11, the park's opening night, 'Laurie' experienced a medical emergency. 

Her family decided not to hold a memorial service; instead, Woods of Terror will create a permanent memorial in her honor this season. 

The memorial will be located behind the Wolf photo opportunity, directly across from Cyclones and Midway Munchies. 

"Laurie was much more than a member of our team," a Woods of Terror spokesperson said. "She was part of our Woods of Terror family, and her presence and memory will forever be a part of this place. We hope this memorial gives everyone who knew and loved her a special place to visit, share a memory, and honor the impact she had on so many people."
