Saint Augustine's introduced former Fayetteville State offensive coordinator Howard Feggins as its new head football coach on Thursday.
“I’m excited for the opportunity of the young men and to show them, if they give me all that effort, then we have an opportunity to win,” said Feggins. “The President, Dr. McPhail, and the Athletic Director, Dr. (Lin) Dawson, are very supportive of the growth and direction of the program.”

Feggins played collegiately at North Carolina as a defensive back and graduated in 1987. He played in the NFL briefly with the New England Patriots.
Feggins takes over a Falcons program that went a combined 2-15 in its previous two seasons. As a result, then-coach David Bowser stepped down in January after coaching SAU since 2019.
This is the first college head coaching job for Feggins. Before Fayetteville State, he was an assistant at CSU-Pueblo, Norfolk State, South Carolina State, Eastern Michigan, Northwestern, Miami (Ohio) and Wingate.
