While international attention is on Paris this summer, in the Triangle, the focus was five years in the future. The World University Games – considered to be the “Olympics” for top college and university athletes from around the world – will take place at venues throughout central North Carolina from July 11 through July 22, 2029.
After a five-year bid process, the host committee is counting down.

“Five years to go may seem like a long ways away to some, but it is actually a short period in the world of hosting mega-events," said Hill Carrow, chairman & CEO of the 2029 FISU World University Games.
