Pinehurst No. 11 to start construction later this year, open in 2027

Pinehurst Resort announced a new golf course is in the works to add to an already world-class golf scene.

Pinehurst No. 11 will go under construction sometime in 2025 and open by 2027. The resort made the announcement on Monday. 

The course will be designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Coore and Crenshaw were the masterminds behind restoring Pinehurst No. 2 and see potential to give No. 11 plenty of unique traits and challenges that will resonate with golfers.

"We're far, far from the sea, but we have these contours and features and landforms that remind you of spots in Ireland or Scotland," Coore said in a release. "And yet here it is, in Pinehurst."

The site of No. 11 will be on a property near the No. 10 course.
