An in-season documentary that was set to follow the University of North Carolina football program is no longer in the works.

WRAL News confirmed the scrapping of the Hulu documentary after numerous reports said it had been scrapped.

This comes after a WRAL Investigates report into the dysfunction within the program, which included preferential treatment of players recruited by first-year head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick was hired to coach the team in December.

Hulu’s cameras and crew were not present at UNC’s loss to Clemson on Saturday in Chapel Hill, the Tar Heels’ third blow out loss of the season.

UNC was all but set to appear on NFL Films’ “Hard Knocks” series before that deal fell through. Emails obtained by WRAL showed the sides were set to announce the deal before a last-minute hold-up. Other reports indicate that Jordon Hudson, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend and business partner in outside ventures, wanted “content approval and partial ownership.”

The Tar Heels then announced the documentary was in the works with Hulu in August, with negotiations dating back to July.
