A Charlotte father got a new souvenir for his son at the Durham Bulls game a week earlier: A foul ball. And now, he has the viral clip to prove it.

During the sixth inning of the Bulls’ 8-3 win against the Gwinnett Stripers on Aug. 2, the Bulls hit a foul ball into right field, which was caught by the man, Wesley Whalen, while he was pushing his son in a stroller.

The Bulls posted the clip of the catch on Monday.

Whalen said he was at the game because his family was at the game with friends who lived in Durham.

“I’m a lifelong Braves/Stripers fan, but the Durham Bulls staff have been so awesome that they have made a fan out of me,” Whalen said.

Whalen said his sons will probably never hear the end of it either.

“I’m available if any low-A affiliates want to reach out for a contract,” Whalen joked.
