Robeson County Deputy Jonathan Walters returned home Friday from the hospital after he was shot while serving a warrant on a murder suspect.
Walters and deputy Kaelin Locklear were the two deputies shot on Nov. 7.

"I would like to thank everyone for the many prayers and well wishes that have been extended to me," Walters said in a written statement. "It is a great pleasure to be home and to be reunited with my family.
"My body is still in the process of healing, so as I continue to do that, I ask you remember me and my partner. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for my brothers and sisters from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office."
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins posted a video Friday to his Facebook page about Walters returning home.
"Another one of Robeson County's heroes is on the way home," Wilkins said. "As you can see here, being escorted is Deputy Jonathan Walters and some of his family. [They're] heading to house after being released from the hospital [Friday]."
Last week, Locklear returned home himself.
The two deputies were serving a warrant on murder suspect Shawn Locklear Jr., who has no relation to Deputy Kaelin Locklear. Shawn Locklear Jr. was out on bond while having murder and robbery charges.
The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 at Lois Ann Drive in Maxton.
Upon arrival, deputies say Locklear Jr. ran into a wooded area. During the pursuit, additional deputies arrived and attempted to apprehend the suspect in the 1100 block of Old Red Springs Road.
When deputies encountered Locklear in the woods, multiple shots were fired at them. Gunfire hit both Walters and Kaelin Locklear.
Shawn Lockler Jr. also sustained gunshot wounds and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
