A Wednesday crash in Nashville involving at least five vehicles appeared to be the result of a chase, according to a state trooper.
The trooper reported that three Nashville police cars, a Nash County sheriff's deputy car, and a suspect's vehicle were all involved in the collision.

Around 5:10 p.m., the Nashville Police Department received a report of a man trying to use a fake check at a Walmart in Nashville.
When officers arrived, the suspect was leaving the store.
An officer tried to talk to the suspect, but he ran on foot through the parking lot.
The officer chased him briefly until the suspect jumped into a gray Charger waiting in the parking lot.
The officer gave a description of the vehicle, which was heading east on Eastern Avenue.
Other responding officers spotted the vehicle and tried to pull it over.
This led to a chase involving the Nashville Police Department and the Nash County Sheriff's Office.
The chase went east on Eastern Avenue before turning back west.
The suspect's vehicle then entered a business parking lot and tried to leave. In the process, it hit three Nashville police vehicles and one Nash County Sheriff's Office vehicle, one of them head-on.
Three men are now in custody.
One officer was taken to Nash ER for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending.
Sky 5 flew over the scene Wednesday evening, and several law enforcement vehicles responded along Eastern Avenue.
