A man drowned late Saturday night in the Jordan Lake Wildlife Area while out fishing with his friends.
Around 11:45 p.m., Pradip Kumar Bhujel, 25, of Charlotte waded into the water and disappeared from view, according to witnesses.

His friends raised the alarm, prompting a response from Chatham County first responders, including the sheriff's office, firefighters, EMS and others.
On arrival, search efforts focused on the area where Bhujel was last seen. His body was located, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This is the second drowning at Jordan Lake in less than a month. A teen celebrating a friend's birthday drowned at the lake on Memorial Day weekend.
Many residents who live near the lake said they plan to be more careful when they visit the lake.
"It does worry me," Morrisville resident Shuandy Giron-Ibanez said.
The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Medical Examiner, is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pradip Kumar Bhujel,” said Sheriff Mike Roberson. “Our team is thoroughly investigating the incident to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic event.”
