The National Wright Brothers Memorial released the names of the five people killed in Saturday’s plane crash in the Outer Banks.
The five people on board the airplane when it crashed were as follows: Shashwat Ajit Adhikari, 31, of Silver Spring, Maryland; Jason Ray Campbell, 43, Southern Pines, North Carolina; Kate McAllister Neely, 39, of Southern Pines, North Carolina; Matthew Arthur Fassnacht, 44, of Marietta, Georgia; and a 6-year-old child.

The crash had no survivors.
“National Park Service employees at Wright Brothers National Memorial, Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site (Outer Banks Group) extend their deepest condolences to the families, friends and loved ones affected by this tragedy,” said Outer Banks Group superintendent David Hallac.
The publication Stars and Stripes reported that Campbell was a soldier based at Fort Liberty.
“Our Dare County, North Carolina, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk partners provided incredible support to the National Park Service during this tragic event,” Hallac said. “Their efforts to quickly extinguish the fire associated with the crash prevented further impacts to the surrounding environment and community."
The National Park Service said the plane crashed around 5 p.m. Saturday into the woods at the Wright Brothers National Memorial’s First Flight Airport.
The plane caught on fire after the crash.
The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department and other local fire departments put the fire out.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
The FAA was also notified.
