Seven people were arrested Saturday after a raid at an illegal bar in Raleigh.

Early Saturday morning, Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) special agents executed a search warrant at G-Loft, which is located at 900 W. Hodges Street in Raleigh.

Investigators said G-Loft is an "illegal adult entertainment business" with a history of violence.

The investigation was prompted by a history of 911 calls to the Raleigh Police Department, which included multiple shootings, homicides and complaints of illegal drug and alcohol activity.

"The Raleigh Police Department is proud to partner with other law enforcement agencies to reduce crime in our community," said RDP Police Chief Estella D. Patterson. "Last night’s arrests serve as a reminder that we will not condone illegal activities in our community."

Seven people were arrested. Assorted alcohol, marijuana and four firearms were seized.

The operators of G-Loft, Damien Devon Holloway and Angela McLean, were each charged with maintaining a place for the use or sale of a controlled substance, a felony charge of attempting to evade taxes, possession of alcoholic beverages for sale without ABC permits, possession of non-tax-paid spirituous liquor and unauthorized possession/consumption of spirituous liquor.

Both were given an unsecured bond of $5,000. Holloway and Mclean posted bond Saturday and are expected to appear in court Monday at 2 p.m.

"The violence that has occurred at this location highlights the dangers that exist when the unlawful sales of alcohol, drug activity, and firearms coexist," said ALE Director Bryan House.

Other people charged included:

  • Larry D. Jones was charged with performing armed security without being licensed.
    • Justin Simmons was charged with performing armed security without being licensed and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

      • Simmons is scheduled to appear in court Monday at 2 p.m.

    • Gregory Holloway was charged with simple possession marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. 
    • Amber Roberts was charged with unauthorized possession of spirituous liquor. 
    • Brandon Ray was charged with simple possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

      The G Loft was fined $500 by Raleigh police in March after a double shooting.
