Apex police responded to a bomb threat at Apex Friendship High School Monday morning as students and staff were ordered to evacuate.
Police said a threat was called in around 10:30 a.m.

Thousands of students could be seen outside the school – on the lawn and in the bleachers of the stadium – waiting to learn if classes would resume.
Apex police confirmed all students and staff members were safe. Many parents were there to pick up their children as a long line of cars was visible at the nearby middle school around noon. School administrators allowed students to leave for the day and go back into the building to retrieve their belongings.
After a search of school property, no explosive devices were found.
"All staff and students are safe and have evacuated from the high school," the police department posted to Facebook.
School administrators confirmed they were "returning to a normal day of teaching and learning and plan to dismiss at 2:18 p.m."
Parents and members of the community are asked to not call 911 for updates on the situation. Apex Friendship High has an enrollment of around 2,700 students.
On Friday, May 5, several Wake County schools were on high alert with extra security from an unspecified, mass threat.
